Rejection.

His heart, now raw and bleeding

The tears, they make him blind
In shadows wrought with abandonement
This darkness he doth find

The sadness, it surrounds him
Wash like waves on rippled earth
Didn’t see this hammer falling
Always wanted a rebirth

Screaming at his maker
Questions falling to the floor
All he’s done means nothing
And it will forever more

Splintered hope decimates
Let the cold of winter bury
Lying naked on frozen ground
Numb to nature’s fury

Embalmed in ice, no longer feeling
Eyes frozen open, no longer dealing
The weight removed but betrayal, it festers
This twisting knife, a life molester

And all is still and all is silent
The pain is gone in death compliant
Where love was promised, now burnt black
Just empty nothing echoes back.
