“Morning Comes Eternal”.

We won’t see the morning
On the road that we had tread.
Beat my fists against that wall.
Over scrutinize my head.
Tethered to the unrelenting.
Tethered to a thought within.
Not a destination or a place
I wanted to be in.
There was no one here to free me.
To uncage me deep inside.
There was no new place to run to.
There is no more place to hide.

In the shadows there is darkness
And in darkness there is light.
When the morning comes eternal.
Face to face with the daylight.
In the blinding there is finding
Of the person inside me.
Because the person I’m becoming
Is whom I’m called to be.

So this calibrated vision
Squandered no more in the night.
They have called me to obscurity
But I will choose to fight.
Keep my head above the waters.
Cut the ties that held me back.
Do the work laid out before me.
Must become my lifes soundtrack.
Though the voices growl and whisper.
Calling, nagging, mauling me.
This enlightened, titan version
Is the man I need to be.

In the shadows there is darkness
And in darkness there is light.
When the morning comes eternal.
Face to face with the daylight.
In the blinding there is finding
Of the person inside me.
Because the person I’m becoming
Is whom I’m called to be.

This residuum of pain
Cursing my good Christian name.
Broken teeth and broken chains.
There is no more of the same.
It is finished, it is done.
I have traveled through the sun.
I am whole and I am one.
Now the journey’s just begun.

In the shadows there is darkness
And in darkness there is light.
When the morning comes eternal.
Face to face with the daylight.
In the blinding there is finding
Of the person inside me.
Because the person I’m becoming
Is whom I’m called to be.
