“That For Which I Yearn.”

I have petitioned for your benevolence
And here I wait in shrouded darkness
Aligned with you in celestial bliss
Yet alone in the silence of your shadow.

I have been marked by your infinite grace
Each second apart doles a thorough lashing
Amidst the garden of your heart, I take pause
Embedded in truth, I’m down on my knees.

I have created the idea of someone like you
And steered recklessly clear for decades
To actualize your magnificence
Floors me indefinitely.

I have abandoned emptiness to be with you forever
In your absence, I’m reminded of its sting
Formulating words in this euphoria seems redundant
If only I could possess that for which I yearn.
