“The Blackening.”

I have drifted into another dimension
A portal excavated by the hole in my heart
Everything that was deemed beautiful
Are now all abysmal grays
There is no more splendor coursing through these veins
A blackening of my soul by the blotting out of you.

The divide is rapidly becoming bottomless with the distance you maintain
What once was is splintered into a hundred cracks
And each hour gives birth to one hundred more
We are free falling into the inferno
Where we die a thousand deaths invariably.

We are broken, and so far gone that the pieces can’t be put back together
Once tall evergreens, we are now burnt ash. The sum of all things dead
Now beyond reanimation, we shall respond accordingly
We have vanished from the earth just like before we ever existed.
