“Upon The Rock.”

Into this obsidian void
Dead of night black
Where whispers die
And lies call to us eternal
Voices within the shadows taunt
A buffet of tumult and pain
This burdens heft anchoring death
Held down amongst the darkness.

Push back and peel away
Reattaching heart and head
This stream of light cuts the curse
Morning after a thousand nights
Burn the past where the devil lay
Take me from my cave of chaos
And set my feet upon the rock
To be man and to be whole again.
