I can pray for her
I can speak truths to her
I can be patient with her
But I can’t make her choose happiness.
I can listen to her
I can encourage her
I can love her
But I can’t make her leave her cage.
I can bless her
I can uplift her
I can hold her
But I can’t make her start living her life.
I can respect her
I can give her anything she asks
I can be her closest ally
But I can’t make her leave that unfulfillment.
I can counsel her
I can lead her
I can swoon her
But I can’t make her free from a life of regret.
I can have faith in her
I can have hope in her
I can adore her forever
But I can’t make her be free.
