“Changing Lanes.”

You’ve been stuck in traffic
Gridlocked without choice
Trapped inside that cramped vehicle
Under lock and key
Pedestrians have been passing by
Cyclists leave you in the dust
Birds are soaring overhead
For you, time has stood still long enough.

The time to change lanes is now
Your blinker’s been on for years
Just steer clear of the wreckage
Free flow into the greatest drive of your life
Put that ragtop down and zoom away
Feel the wind in your hair and the freedom in your heart
With your foot on the gas, don’t look back
Miles away from that pot hole trap.

Changing lanes will change your world
You’ll wonder why you yielded so long
This merging, bold on your GPS
Everything has lit up green
Every destination at your fingertips
Simply put your car into gear
You’ve known all along how to accelerate
Now all you have to do is go.
