“Systems In Place.”

And then blood poured out from the sky
Reigning down from the heavens
When the swords of demons and angels clashed
Because the lies were allowed to linger.

The pretending took on reality
The denial evolved into true mental health
The abuse was welcomed and praised
And this was the day the whole world died.

There were systems in place for as long as I’ve lived
Thou shalt not hurt women and children
But now this is the norm, life without order
No disrupting the venomous or face the wrath of the bite.

In cages we live, with doors flung open
Prayers are voiced to hurt and destroy
Our misalignment to ourselves is our new compass
And trauma shall crush us like air in our lungs.
