What In The Actual Health.

Ever been at that point where you’re so bloody tired that you can’t close your mouth or your eyes and your entire person seems to be buzzing? Me neither. Asking for an enemy.

I need a vacation. Not from work. Not from my kids. I need a vacation from my current reality, and it best be a permanent one.

I used to say I’m out of shape due to a bad marriage I was in, and that was the truth, when it was going on. I’ve been spouseless for fifteen months so it’s not a wall I am allowed to hide behind anymore, though I do.

I’m not interested in “How did I get here?” My thing is digging my way out. Back to where I started. Then to rebuild. I’ve been a broken record for too long. Talking about hope, improvement, motivation, doing the right thing etc yet it seems like all I do are the wrong things.

So how does one get out of a dark, dank hole? I dug it myself so I am aware of how deep and wide it is and of the monsters that inhabit it.

Look at it as the monumental challenge that it is. I get that this is typically the last thing you should be in considering what you’re up against, as some immovable force but give it a whirl. The victory over it will feel so much better. When I quit drinking, I saw it as impossible but when I conquered it, I saw it for the weak little sniveling bully that it was.

Take out your monster at the knees. Find a weak point and attack. In my case, I need to lose weight fast and beat a handful of health problems, the quicker the better. My weak point is its weak point. I’ve become accustom to fast food, junk food, cola, lots of breads and the general lack of anything good. So I gotta cut it out. Just like that. Get accustom to not reaching for that pizza and what you want becomes attainable, with longevity.

Once you break down the walls, understand you can still eat cake. For me right now, it’s the mindset that holds the power. I gave it that power. Once I’m past the first steps and on to better eating overall, it’s all about the digits, friends. Please throw out all the silly gimmicks the world tries to sell you and simply watch your calorie intake. It becomes a super easy no brainer after like 5 days of doing it.

Stay the course. When I briefly relapsed from the sauce, I felt like I’d never get sober again. But when I did, I made a bold imprint on my dumb brain saying to always keep on track. Always. This is the key to basically every avenue of success, happy and healthy in this life. Find the right path and for frick sakes, do not fall off.

It’s all in our minds. Seems crazy and a cop out when we’re down and depressed and beaten and used to failure but it all comes back to us putting ourselves in cages. The cages or holes are easy to fall into, though as with finding a way out, they take time to renovate and move into.

Get out. Now. I’m going to take my own advice and climb out as well.
Make a Move, Guy

Is there a time and place where compromising ones values is not only okay but is also not really considered a compromise and instead is more so just the wisest move to make?

Hi. My name’s Kris and I have a dilemma which needs resolve like yesterday.

Let me give it up straight: I am a Christian, as is my girlfriend Krista. Our belief is to be married first before living together. Thing is…even though we both intend on marrying one another, we don’t want it happening overnight. And the dilemma before us is that due to my work, I need to move from where I currently reside for it to make any sense, and to stop throwing away money into the gas tank.

I can continue to reside with my mother, along with my three children, and do the hour commute daily. What I’m currently doing is staying with Krista four nights a week and three at “home”, which, is “part-time living together” so pretty much the same as if it were full-time.

Third option requires the most effort but the both of us our more than “game”, and that is to pull the kids from their school, put them in a new one mid-year in February and live as a family, all the while fully intending on marrying in the spring or summer, exempting us from the “living in sin” title, if that were even possible. Still with me?

So there it is. The intentions are pure but with the brain on. Does a man continue to drive two hours a day (on top of a driving job) and burn $700 a month on gas just to avoid the sin-living title?

My son of 15 years is vehemently against the notion of us shacking up pre-marriage, and I gotta say that inspires me in my Christian walk. But making the executive decision as all parents should, bottom line is we know what is right and will make it so. Soon, just not today.

Messy. I am discrediting myself by doing the move? I’m definitely putting stress on my children with the mid-year school switcheroo. But see, the alternative makes no sense whatsoever.

In our soon approaching future, as a family, we will face two more big moves, if not more. All of us can adapt. Change propels us. None of it’s easy and I don’t want it that way anyway. I just want to do what’s right, and equally do what’s smart.

Ugh. I hoped through “talking this out” I would have a sense of peace of what direction to go. I wanted clarification. I needed our rudder locked in place. Hand-forcing is not my style so we wait, wishy washy. Ugh!
Twenty – Four Hours to Live. GO!

What if you knew you would be dead in twenty-four hours? Who would you tell? What ends would you attempt to tie up? How would your funeral look like, and who would show up?

Sure, it’s all pretty morbid. Yet, oddly a curious thing to consider, if only for a few moments. I used to be bad for imagining my funeral. I would picture girl after girl, whose life I touched in one way or another, making an appearance. Tears would stream down each of their pretty faces, and each would be filled with a heavy sense of loss…..and all this was something settling to my dead self. It’s a feeling a revenge in a huge way; me getting the satisfaction in seeing that I truly WAS adored, and that I left a hole in many people. Kind of twisted, kind of beautiful, no?

A lot of people have a bucket list but I currently do not. I guess in the scenario I laid out, how many loose ends could a person actually accomplish in under twenty-four hours?? Would you spend that time dead-man-walking style, surrounded by friends and family as the clock ticks down, as you surrender to your expiration? Or do you fight it, and try to cheat it, in somehow solving it like it’s a riddle, and in cracking it’s “code” the death clock will stop? I don’t even know what I would do. It would “kill me” to just embrace it, but how could it even be averted?

In “the end”, to me, all that would matter is when the clock reaches 00:00, I have peace as for where my spirit will go as my heart stops beating. That would be the scariest part, to not know what happens AFTER. Luckily, we have “all the time in the world” to figure that part out so I suggest you get on it. Everything else is just cake.
